Terms of Use

We have developed the browser extension iblockads. You can download it at our website and other domains. The extension allows you to customize your web experience, among other things. You can block all disturbing ads, domains which are known to spread malware, disable tracking and much more. The extension is available for all major browsers, including Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Yandex, Safari and Maxthon. iblockads uses filters that you choose to block undesirable elements.

What does that mean?

iblockads is free of charge to you for 7 days trial. Thus, Terms of Use are necessary to protect you and protect us as well. These Terms of Use apply to your use of iblockads.

What do you mean “iblockads is free to use?

iblockads gives you free 7 days free trial, after which you pay a minimal fee of $4 per month

Non-permitted use of iblockads

Note that there are some websites which may not permit ad-blocking users to view their website. That must be respected, especially in the below mentioned cases:

  • iblockads must not be used on websites where one has agreed to not use it. This means by agreeing to the Terms of Services on the particular website, not to use any ad blockers.
  • Use of iblockads is permitted in connection with any tools to evade technological measures that constructively control access to websites.

What are Acceptable Ads?

When using iblockads, non-obtrusive ads aren’t blocked by default. This happens in order to support websites. One can at any time opt out and disable this feature.
This does not affect the functionalities of iblockads.

Within our Acceptable Ads program, the following rules will always apply to everyone, without any exception:

  • The criteria cannot be avoided by paid activities. Every ad must abide by.
  • All Acceptable Ads are added to our forum so as to enable our community of users to provide feedback with all transparency.
  • We pay attention to our users, In case any Acceptable Ads proposal is flagged by our community for a legit reason, it will be removed from the whitelist.

What if iblockads does not work properly?

  • iblockads is provided “as is” and on an “as available” basis. Use iblockads at your own risk. No warranty or condition is being made by us that iblockads will meet your requirements or be secure, timely, error-free or uninterrupted:
  • You understand and acknowledge the fact that the used filters may occasionally lead to blocked content. This is an undesirable side effect of some filters and cannot be evaded completely.
  • In itself, iblockads has no functionality; Unless you “tell” it what to block by adding lists of external filter, it does not block anything. Filter lists are basically an expansive set of rules that tell iblockads which elements of a website need to be blocked. We have no influence on those filter lists.

Inform us as soon as possible in the instance of you finding any defect or incorrect blocking, including blocking of content.

Additional information

This Terms of Use shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you have no place of jurisdiction in Germany or in any other EU member state, if you have transferred your permanent domicile abroad after these Terms of Use take effect or if your domicile or usual place of residence is unknown at the time legal action is taken, the sole place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this agreement will be the location of our registered offices.

We reserve the right to amend and adapt these Terms of Use with effect for the future. You can request the currently applicable version of the Terms of Use from our legal department or access them on our website. You will be notified no later than one month before the new Terms of Use take effect. If you do not object to the validity of the new Terms of Use within one month after they take effect, you will be deemed to have accepted the new Terms of Use. We will inform you separately in suitable form about the significance of the one month's notice period, your right to object and the legal consequences of non-objection. This amendment mechanism does not apply to amendments to the parties' main contractual obligations.
